At Congregation Agudat Achim, we believe that learning is a central part of life for adults and children. Therefore, our adult learning community is an integral part of many members’ lives in their lifelong pursuit of Jewish literacy and personal growth. The diverse interests of our members drive our programs. We provide learning opportunities that are accessible to learners at all levels of understanding.
Mission Statement
The Adult Education Committee provides a Beit Midrash, a house of study, for the shul with wide-ranging programs at all levels of learning that instill an abiding relationship with Judaism, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel.
This years theme is:
Al Haaretz V’al Hamazon / For the land and for the nourishment
This year’s Adult Educational theme will raise up two aspects of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world): the experience of the Jewish people as refugees/immigrants throughout history and our responsibilities toward the stranger today, and the existential necessity of caring for the environment and our responsibilities as stewards and caretakers of the land.
We expect to have a mixture of on-line and in-person programs as we engage with our community on these issues.
